My name is Ken Studdy and I am a highly motivated web developer located in Ontario, Canada. I specialize in PHP and MySQL and my current technologies are: PHP with Laravel and CodeIgniter, JavaScript with Vue and React, HTML5, CSS3, and SQL with MySQL and PostgreSQL. I am a graduate of both Computer Programmer Analyst and Computer Systems Technology at Durham College. I have experience working as both a System Administrator as well as a Web Developer. I am equally comfortable in Linux and Windows environments. My technical strengths include website security and back-end web development.

Computer Systems Technology - Advanced Diploma, With Honours / Graduated: 2017
During my time of studies for this diploma I have learned and demonstrated my knowledge of Windows Server, Linux Server, Virtualization, Software as a Service (SaaS), Cisco routing and switching, security of Cisco devices, security of Linux and Windows, and many other topics.
Computer Programming Analyst - Advanced Diploma / Graduated: 2015
This diploma reinforced my programming skills. I produced applications and websites throughout both individually and in groups. I was an effective team leader during several group projects. Various languages were used such as PHP, JavaScript, C#, Java, C++ and VB.
LabX Media Group / Ontario, Canada / November 2020 - February 2023
Improved and upgraded LabX E-Commerce website to the latest standards using PHP, MySQL, JavaScript with Node and React, CSS3 with SCSS, and HTML5. Increased website performance by optimizing SQL queries in addition to rewriting core pieces of the home page and other pages including auctions and events pages, news pages, product pages, and more. Created an admin website using Laravel and Vue featuring all administration functionality for managing the LabX website. Created multiple pages including a Deals page and a Showcase page with multiple products including modals, animations, and more using React, SCSS, and Node with a PHP backend. Mentored multiple intern and junior developers, teaching important industry concepts required for success.
Long & McQuade Musical Instruments / Ontario, Canada / May 2018 - September 2020
Improved and upgraded Canada’s largest music store website to the latest standards using PHP, MySQL, JavaScript with Vue, HTML5, and CSS3. Increased website performance by rewriting SQL queries resulting in enhanced customer experience. Created several large systems including group lessons system, image compression system, e-transfer payment system, shipping calculator app, and more. Implemented and created unit tests for enhanced website stability. Improved website to handle more than 300% increased web traffic over several months.

Developed and improved multiple large-scale mission-critical, security-sensitive responsive websites using PHP with CodeIgniter, MySQL, JavaScript, HTML5, and CSS3 with SASS. Delivered and deployed multiple large-scale responsive websites for several large clients.
Freelance / Ontario, Canada / May 2017 - January 2018
Created and upgraded server and client applications using Java (utilized libraries including Netty, Hikari, Log4j2, GSON, and more) and MySQL for various individual customers. Created several responsive websites using HTML5, CSS3, PHP, MySQL, and JavaScript. Refactored existing systems and created new systems. Re-wrote existing code to improve performance. Improved server application and website security through the use of prepared statements, CSRF tokens, CSP, and more.
